Why Historical or Thematic Dining?
There are a number of places where you can
go to dine on period or historical food. Many of them are far away, too
commercial, or not as authentic as the advertisements claim. Caterers
and many restaurants, while they may be interested in this concept, do
not have the time or the resources to recreate an historical meal.
Today, many people want a new twist to their dinner or cocktail
parties. One magazine recently commented that party givers and goers
are
no longer satisfied with the ordinary, they want to be more creative. A
"Titanic" Dinner Party, where a recreation of the last meal on the RMS
Titanic is served, or a Victorian Christmas, are extremely popular
choices.
The ability to "suspend belief and time" for a few hours, to dine by
candlelight or oil lamps, possibly wearing vintage clothing, is an
experience that your guests will remember long after the party has
ended.
