A Diary Entry

17th September. Today I and my wyfe, my man John, Captain and Mrs. Whitehead, the Misses Whitehead, and the Widow Mrs. Robertshaw went up to Avery Place to visit with Squire and Mrs. Wallingford. We arrived at 3:00 where we had a very agreeable dinner of Roast Tongue and Veal Olives and Chicken Couccous. Toured his orchards and tasted his pears and apples.
